Classes are offered year round to provide as many classes as possible. Sessions begin when enough Parents/students verify they will attend the mandatory pre-course meeting. Classes generally run about six (6) weeks during school and three (3) weeks during the summer.
Due to state laws, students must meet minimum time requirements. Students that are part of other extracurricular activities (school related or otherwise) are NOT exempt from these requirements. Typically, a student enrolled in multiple activities will not be able to meet the legal time requirements. Please see the FAQ's page.
A phone call will be sent out on the School Messenger system to all students that have purchased a permit. The next class will begin around the first week in December.
If you received a phone call, please call the high school office at 745-7704 ext 5 (during school) or 745-6693 ext. 0 (during summer). You must call to reserve a spot for your student. We MUST have 24 students to hold a class. The parent meeting will be held about a week prior to class beginning. Only attend if you have received a phone call! Parent meetings begin at 7:00pm.
If you have not received a call and your student has purchased a permit at the DMV, please call the office and leave a message for Mr. Green. He will then check the DMV records. You may also not receive a call if your phone number is incorrect on the DMV receipt.
School Year Schedule
A typical class runs as follows: Classes held M-T-W immediately after school for two (2) hours. Driving sessions are generally held Th-F-S. Driving sessions will vary for each student on these days.
During the summer, classes typically run M-T-W-Th for three weeks. Some weeks classes will be held on Friday due to holidays earlier in the week. Students must attend ALL classes or they will not meet the state time requirements.
Classes run from 8:00am - 10:30am each morning with drives following class. The drives are in 1.5 hour increments from 10:40am - 4:40pm M-Th. Drive times will change daily to give each student the opportunity to experience low and high traffic situations.
